Workshops

Figurative Porcelain Sculptures

Thinking figuratively with porcelain; teaching technique and encouraging imagination. Working with figurative porcelain will challenge you to see porcelain in a new light and explore its expressive potential.

Over the weekend, you will learn techniques for sculpting and molding porcelain. You will also learn how to experiment with different textures and shapes to create truly unique and imaginative pieces. By the end of the two days, you’ll have created thoughtful and imaginative sculptures.

Explore the endless possibilities of figurative porcelain and unleash your creativity. Ceramicist Sophie Woodrow will help you hone your skills, challenge your thinking, and inspire your imagination.

Students will gain the confidence to use porcelain as a hand-building material, and be given the opportunity to reflect on the next place their creativity may take them. This workshop is for those who have some experience in working with clay, but not necessarily porcelain. Those who want to take a moment to expand their practise, both technically and perceptively.
